Despite its name, Genco Puro & Co. is not a group, but a solo artist, real name being Riccardo Pirolli. Credited with name shortened to Riccardo Rolli he played guitar on Franco Battiato's first album "Fetus", and was in turn helped by Battiato for the release of the "Area di servizio" album back in 1972. The album is mainly acoustic, based on piano and guitars, with Battiato singing in the best two tracks: "Giorno d'estate" and "Nebbia". Another interesting track was written by Bruno "Red" Canzian (from Capsicum Red fame and later Pooh member).
