ALBUM REVIEW
WHITE WILLOW started out as a folk-rock band in the mid-Nineties, but has since then become Norway's most prominent progressive rock band, and a leading e exponent of the Scandinavian progressive exponent progressive sound along with ANGLAGARD and ANEKDOTEN. They are now one of the best-selling bands on THE LASER’S EDGE imprint. WHITE WILLOW have been named "one of the most significant progressive groups of the current era by THE BILLBOARD GUIDE TO PROGRESSIVE MUSIC, and "the Mazzy Star of prog" by COLLEGE MUSIC JOURNAL. They have play played world-renowned festivals such as PROGFEST and NEARFEST, and have headlined France's CRESCENDO FESTIVAL. On September 30, 2006 the band will make their UK debut at the SUMMERS END FESTIVAL, co-headlining with, PENDRAGON. Each WHITE WILLOW release has seen an influx of new members, and the trend continues on the band’ band’s fifth album. SIGNAL TO NOISE, features their stunning new vocalist TRUDE EIDTANG. Bandleader JACOB HOLM- COB HOLMLUPO LUPO wanted to revamp the band’s sound and create something more modern but still appealing to their core progressive rock fanbase. To accomplish this the band traveled to Denmark to record with noted producer TOMMY HANSEN (HELLOWEEN, TNT, CIRCUS MAXIMUS). The music now owes much to THE GATHERING as it does KING CRIMSON. The KILLUSTRATIONS design team of Germany was once again enlisted to create a visually arresting package. The members of WHITE WILLOW are constantly involved in other projects as well including jazz/electronica pioneers JAZZIST, psychedelic rock rockers MOTORPSYCHO and the symphonic rock group WOBBLER.
