French keyboards player and composer Didier BARDIN is a Musicology graduate from Paris' famous Sorbonne University. The conception of his project "Le Pouvoir Des Pierres" (2008) originates from a question: is it possible to create a soothing and beneficial music, while varied and interesting? One first work concerned the discoveries of Professor Lee BARTEL, of Toronto University. His searches reveal the direct effect of certain frequencies on the production of alpha, beta and delta cerebral waves. They also show the action of certain rhythms on the respiratory and cardiac cycle. The symbolism of certain minerals, as well as their vibratory properties, appearead as an appropriate concept, while proposing a readability which is largely accessible to the listener. The five years of work that this project took enabled to overlap closely these different aspects, the creation of specific tonal sonic textures supposing a melodic and harmonic writing of the "tension/expansion" type.
