ALBUM REVIEW
Tempano is a band from Venezuela, and it does exist since the mid seventies. After a first very progressive LP release titled Atabal Yemal, and three other ones in a more commercial way, Tempano was signed in the 80’s by Sony, for which released two more albums before stopping in 1989. The band got together again in 1998 in order to record extra tracks for the CD reissue of Atabal Yemal by Musea. They also attended at the Baja Prog festival in 1999, and plan to continue on with this brand new album. Tempano wants to make progressive music, so they offer a mostly instrumental music with long elaborate arrangements, instrumental developments, a very personal inspiration and a real sense of atmosphere; Their sophisticated keyboards, guitars and rhythms parts include influences by Genesis, Yes, Happy the Man, Camel, but also jazz rock music. Ref. Genesis, Happy the Man, Yes.
