ALBUM REVIEW
National Health straddles the line between prog and fusion on their debut, offering four extended tracks that mix jazzy soloing with intricate instrumental composition. Featuring Dave Stewart on keyboards and Pip Pyle on drums (both ex-Hatfield & The North), National Health are tied in with the Canterbury scene, and the band exudes the same appeal that characterizes that sound, with it's use of swinging rhythms and warm layers of synthesizer and guitar. The core of the band is augmented on each track by additional keys, percussion, wind instruments, and female vocals that are so high pitched and transparent, they blend in to the overall sound as another instrument. Recommended for fans of instrumental prog and seventies fusion. (bpnicast - Rate Your Music)
