ALBUM REVIEW
Hawkwind's 1977 release Quark Strangeness and Charm is easily the high point of their post-Lemmy career. The high point of the Calvert/Brock/House lineup. And probably the apex of Hawkwind's songwriting skills. Every song on Quark Strangeness and Charm is an amazing epic but the centerpieces are Damnation Alley, a sonic journey through a ravaged post-apocalyptic land based on a Sci-Fi novel, and featuring Simon House's best violin work in Hawkwind ever. And Spirit Of The Age, the best song ever written about androids, replicants, and clones. (DarthKarl - Rate Your Music)
