ALBUM REVIEW
Sea Shanties is probably the hardest and heaviest album released in the 1960s (Yeah it's even heavier than Wheels of Fire, In A Gadda Da Vida, or Vincebus Eruptum) it is just amazingly heavy, and as close as music got to being Heavy Metal in the 60s. The real defining factor of what makes Sea Shanties so great is the constant battle for supremacy between the electric guitar of Tony Hill and the electric violin of Simon House. It is literally war, and there isn't hardly a moment's quiet on Sea Shanties because of it. And that is a very good thing. If You have never heard the track "Futilist's Lament" then please do so now, it's truly amazing. I would rank this album as one of the greatest Hard Rock, Proto-Metal, or Heavy Psych albums ever.
