ALBUM REVIEW
“Neck Pillow”, INQUIRE’s second album, had received critical acclaim, due to its perfectly progressive form and inspiration. No doubt all progressive lovers will discover the third album by this german band with enthusiasm. It’s composed by two CDs: the first one is a concept album about Jean-Paul Sartre’s novel “La nausée”. The second rearranges moments of an organ symphony by the french composer Louis Vierne, created at the beginning of the twentieth century, and forerunner of the rock’n roll movement. Both are fantastic, Inquire plays a carefully written and arranged music, typically progressive, ala Pink Floyd, Genesis, with some connections with german bands like Anyone’s Daughter or, more recently, Versus X, and also influences from classical composers, like Mussorgski among others. The music creates strong dialogues between keyboards and guitars, helped by a solid and precise rhythm section, and also by sounds and suggestive atmospheres. Let’s mention an excellent sound and production (with contribution from Grobschnitt’s Eroc on mastering): a kind of musical perfection !
