ALBUM REVIEW
KBB, a japanese band which exist since 1992, their first album “Lost and found”, was released in 2000. It includes a violin player, Akihisa Tsuboy (who also plays guitar, and is a member of the band STRINGS ARGUMENTS), a new keyboardist, a bass/guitar player and a drummer. Their instrumental progressive jazz-rock was already brilliant in their first album, and now reaches full maturity. Powerful, dynamic, enthusiast: their music is absolutely astounding. You may think of Mahavisnu/Jean-Luc Ponty meeting Curved Air/UK, but these warmful melodies, these complex dialogues between violin and keyboards, this roaming bass and sophisticated rythms, haven’t been heard before. Mixing lyricism and power, KBB sometimes appear as a little brother of Outer Limits, the great japanese band. A revelation !
