ALBUM REVIEW
KOPECKY has become a well known name for prog addicts over the last years. These three brothers fom KOPECKY (U.S.) released a critically acclaimed first album in 1999, and here they are with their third studio album (plus a live one), several appearances in prog’ festivals, and a contribution to the Pär Lindh Project. “Sunset Gun” is a huge step forward for the band, basically metal/prog orientated until then. These seven instrumental pieces offer a more complex and tight stuff, less riffs and more keyboards for atmospheres, incredible fretless bass parts, subtle guitar melodic lines, original drumming. Here is a real compositional complexity, and a wide range of influences has become a well known name for prog addicts over the last years. These three brothers fom Wisconsin, Indian music, King Crimson, Led Zeppelin, Rush, Yes,…Ambient, metal, ethnic, progressive, neo-psych’ music are all invited here, for a really successful musical experience.
