ALBUM REVIEW
The CD debut for this wonderfully eccentric slice of Welsh "acid rock" from Man member Clive John. Contrary to popular belief, the Welsh rock scene wasn’t sired by the Manic Street Preachers, Super Furry Animals, Stereophonics et al, but owes a great deal to artists such as Dave Edmunds, Andy Fairweather-Low and bands such as Help Yourself and Man. Of these bands, Man produced some of the most consistent albums of the 1970’s for the United Artists label and subsequently MCA. Founder member Clive John recorded this superb solo album in 1975 and enlisted the help of Man members Martin Ace and Phil Ryan, and Andy Fairweather Low to record a classic example of Welsh rock at its most inventive. The Eclectic Discs reissue includes the previously unreleased full version of “Hold Your Ferret Aloft”.
