ALBUM REVIEW
ALEXL, also known under the name Alexandre LOUREIRO, has been a member of the Brazilian bands TURANGULA and RAIKA during the Nineties.During the recording sessions of "Triz" (2004), the guitar player-singer was helped by various musicians (Male and female vocals, keyboards, violin, cello, flute, trumpet, trombone...). The least we can say is that this kind of chamber rock is more than interesting ! Mixing influences from GENTLE GIANT (Polyphonic vocals and syncopated rhythms), Brazilian folk music (Samba and bossa-nova), Frank ZAPPA and other Progressive rock masters (YES, CAMEL...), ALEXL composed a brilliant music. His songs and instrumental pieces are dense, often short, worked out and complex, with this so special Brazilian touch. Here is an excellent album, full of a strong identity and enthusiasm. (Musea)
