ALBUM REVIEW
This is perhaps the most notorious Jimmy Campbell solo album, partly because it is by far the easiest to find. Some executive at Vertigo must've thought he was dealing with the next James Taylor or something and had a bajillion copies pressed, although it's unlikely that you would find a lyric like "posters on the wall of hitler, john, and paul" tucked in the middle of "Carolina in My Mind". It's quite a scratch different from both his first and last solo albums. This one tends to alternate between slow, reflective songs and full-band songs that are basically a dry run for Rockin Horse. It should be noted that the latter songs aren't as good as any on the Rockin Horse album but they do make for a nicely varied album, more so than his debut. Jimmy's songwriting is even more finely tuned here and this reveals itself clearly on the softer songs. (mag1c_hands - Rate Your Music)
