ALBUM REVIEW
Another album worth investigating from the canon of this premier British jazz-rock drummer and bandleader, now retired. With a pedigree that includes Rory Storm and the Hurricanes, John Mayall's Bluesbreakers and the Artwoods, one would expect our man to have a talent worth shouting about, and like the other great drummer-bandleaders of the time- Jon Hiseman and Aynsley Dunbar- you'd be right. Hard-driving, uniquely British (North West London, to be specific) jazz-blues-psych-prog, not dissimilar to Colosseum, Air Force, G.B.O. or Snape, but with a bizarre Native American fixation. Very bizarre, when you consider that our man came from Lancashire!! Lead vocals as always supplied by former Ian Hunter/Marc Bolan alumni Miller Anderson. Originally released in 1971 and just as fresh today. Includes as a bonus the "Roundabout" 7" part's 1&2. Detailed booklet. (Freak Emporium)
