ALBUM REVIEW
The new studio album by the current Caravan bass player has a strong bluesrock/country feeling a la “Bob Dylan” with some great harmonica playing to boot. He is also well known for his work with Juicy Lucy, Savoy Brown, Blodwyn Pig, Fat Mattress, Joe Brown and of course Steve Marriott’s Packet of Three. In Jims words “This collection of songs were written between 1967 and the present day ranging from “Bright New Way”, my first real attempt at song writing to ‘Clonakilty Bay’, a tribute to my long time friend Noel Redding who sadly died in May 2003. Other songs were written at different stages over the years including some co-writes with Steve Marriott and Joe Brown as well as personal favourites from the Everley Brothers and Henry McCullough. The album also features contributions from current Caravan members Jan Schelhaas, Richard Coughlan and Geoffrey Richardson.
