ALBUM REVIEW
SEBKHA-CHOTT is a bunch of young French musicians, taking originality in the true sense of the word. Apart from the traditional electric rock instrumentation, one can hear a brass section, some flute parts... And above all, the musicians took the (Good) habit to mix all the musical styles they know. And they know a whole lot ! SEBKHA-CHOTT even created a name for its music: "Mekanik Metal Disco". And this may even not be enough, as the enigmatic "Nagah-Mahdi - Opuscrits En Quarante-Huit Rouleaux" (2006) is packed with salsa, samba, electro, fanfare music, reggae, experiments, classic Progressive rock... These short pieces are packed with energy, enthusiasm and a huge sense of humour. Let's think of Frank ZAPPA, as well as of MAGMA for the musical tension and some atmospheres. (Musea)
