ALBUM REVIEW
Only album by the short-lived and obscure UK Prog band Circus, which gets a lot of attention from King Crimson fans, as it features Mel Collins on flute and saxophone. This was Collins' first recording and after the band folded he joined the legendary King Crimson. The group plays some original material and some covers, mainly of jazz standards, which of course means that they are heavily jazz influenced, but the sound and approach to music are definitely proto-Prog. The other players are guitarist Ian Jelfs, bassist Kirk Riddle and drummer Chris Burrows. Nice trip down the memory line! (Jazzis - Rate Your Music)
