ALBUM REVIEW
In 1969 drummer/songwriter John 'Speedy' Keen formed a band with jazz-pianist Andy Newman and 16-year old guitarist Jimmy McCullough. The Who's Pete Townsend produced their first and only album under the alias Bijou Drains, and played bassguitar. The single Something in the Air is one of those instant classics. Accidents is almost 10 minutes of pure enjoyment. The rest of the album consists of remarkably good songs. The singing isn't great, but the pianoplaying is charming and the guitarsolo's throughout this album are among the best I've ever heard. No wonder Paul McCartney recruited little Jimmy for Wings. Pity he died at just 26 years old. (DivinePartridge - Rate Your Music)
