Label: ESOTERIC RECORDINGS/ATOMHENGE ALBUM REVIEWMORE INFO:Official HomepageElectric tepee is not a bad album for a Hawkwind in low season, though maybe a little too long, thing that makes it lose some consistency. The thing was clearly oriented toward the synths and keyboards department, and that's not a bad thing in the least: it can be excellent or unbearable; let's call it passable here. Hawkwind is a cool band, and the appearance of the compact disk allowed them –physically- to crystallise extensively all those sonic landscapes, those missing and crazy aural pieces which, in 35 or 40 minutes of strict vinyl couldn't be included; but when these 'soundscapes' surpass the actual and concrete tunes –those that one can remind from any band-, then something is failing imo (sorry for this irksome abbreviation). In short my friends: what's missing here is that succinct, actual format of tunes; obtaining here and for everyone to see an aquose version of Hawkwind, like the wine that the ancient Greeks used to mix with some water; for reasons of modesty. This wine mixed with water by Hawkwind, is not done so for reasons of modesty: it is because of other reasons and sakes. Call it laziness if you will: laziness to make something transcendent...and wait, that transcendent doesn't mean commercial or accommodating. (death_metal_doll - Rate Your Music)
