ALBUM REVIEW
This album was released by the Hawkwind (Hawklords) keyboard player more recently part of the rave scene. I've been told its like a straight rip of Bruce Springsteen though I dont feel so. Certainly the vocals are Springsteen style , adequate and totally suited to the material, and no more, and this is straight rock, however the lyrics though are real street, angry, rebellious and very depressing. Songs like "Down on Love Street" are all about sadness/loneliness; other titles like "Figures of Authority", "Shot down in the night" ( which was released as a single same time as Hawkwind , "Bitter and twisted", "Low life Joe" give you an idea . I love it. BTW the line up supporting Steve is Huw Lloyd Langton (Widowmaker, Hawkwind etc), Nic Potter (Van der Graaf Gen) , Simon King (Hawkwind). If you like this type of music don't be scared off by the Hawkwind connection this sounds absolutely nothing like Hawkwind! You'll find this gem hidden in the bargain bins in second hand stores.
