When the famous Moody Blues had come to a halt in the mid-seventies, Ray Thomas decided to go into the studio and make his very first solo album. What starts off with an appropriate orchestral overture, soon becomes an unsatisfactory mishmash of various musical influences, all overpowered by the dark, soothing voice of good old uncle Ray. When you have already given up on the whole thing, the very last track suddenly wakes you up again: "I Wish We Could Fly" is a very nice example of melodic bombast and would also have been a fantastic closing tune for the slightly disappointing next Moody-Blues-album Octave.
