Esoteric Recordings are proud to release a newly remastered edition of Vangelis classic soundtrack to L Apocalypse Des Animaux , a film made in 1973 by the famous French documentary maker Frederic Rossif. The music written and recorded by Vangelis was a fine example of the maestro s ability to compose music that both suited the visual images of the film maker and stirred the emotions of the listener. Recorded prior to Vangelis experiments with synthesisers, the music for L’Apocalypse des Animaux was a breathtaking example of his dexterity as a musician and composer, utilising the keyboard technology of the day to its fullest and previously untapped potential. Unreleased in Britain until 1976, the soundtrack album is now rightly regarded as a classic of both the genre and of Vangelis remarkable body of recordings.
