Canvas Solaris return just over two years after their last effort and they manage to do something incredible. This is the third album of their's that I have listened to, and it is the third album of their's that I would refer to as being a truly excellent album. Canvas Solaris have quickly become my favourite instrumental band for taking an intricate approach and showing technical prowess, but not descending into boring wankery and over doing it. Rather, they manage to still write songs and they manage to balance a softer progressive rock side with a heavier progressive metal side to perfection. Yet despite holding on to their trademark sound, they manage to continue to create original, fresh music. I'm quite happy with the first album I have listened to this year, though I wish I had got to it in 2010 so that it could've made my year end list. (Nesquik - Rate Your Music)
